Photos from last night's Carmina rehearsal:

As you can see, a huge stage was built up for the men to stand in the back as well as platforms for the pianos and percussion.Today is our last full day with our current host families. So far it has included a school visit and performance, a stop to meet the assistant mayor of Minden, and a chance to sing in a huge cathedral with lots of reverb.

School Visit: this week is the final days of class for most kids in Germany. They spend the days doing various fun things including listening to our concert.
(I'm in the back row)
Tomorrow morning we head to Scharbeutz, Germany, it should take about 4 hours and we depart at 9:30 in the morning.
Tonight's festivities include a Carmina Burana Concert conducted by Thomas Wirtz followed by a B-BQ at the church.

I got up-to-date on your posts, then noticed the subtitle of your blog: "A blog to describe my everyday situations."
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I can't seem to accept your summer as anyone's "everyday situation". Sounds like you're having fun, though!
